ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Lucent Musical Story Adventures introduces young children to classical music through

live instrumental performance, storytelling, movement, and musical interaction .

A narrator and live musician(s) work together to bring each story to life, using music to represent characters, emotions, movement, and key moments in the story.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform live music throughout the story

Improvise music in response to the narrator, characters, emotions, and actions

Create short musical cues, transitions, sound effects, and character themes

Perform selected classical repertoire connected to each story

Collaborate naturally with the narrator and other musicians

Demonstrate different instruments and sounds to children

Engage children through interactive musical activities

Attend scheduled rehearsals and production meetings

Prepare assigned music and creative material in advance

Arrive early and fully prepared with required instruments and equipment

REQUIREMENTS

Strong professional-level musicianship

Proficiency in

2 or more instruments (besides guitar)

Strong improvisation and musical collaboration skills

Ability to perform both prepared repertoire and spontaneous musical material

Comfortable responding musically to a narrator and live audience

Comfortable performing for and interacting with young children

Expressive and engaging stage presence

Reliable, punctual, organized, and well-prepared

Able to work collaboratively and take direction

Preferred:

Degree or current studies in Music, Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.

Experience in

improvisation, chamber music, musical theater, accompanying, children’s programming, or interdisciplinary performance

is a plus.
