Job Overview
The team at Edge has partnered with a client in the Greater Boston area in their search for a Consumer Insights Analyst to join their fast-paced product innovation team. This professional will be supporting new product development and consumer research.
This is a great opportunity for an early-career Consumer Insights professional who enjoys understanding what consumers want, why they make certain choices, and how those insights can influence product development.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of Consumer Insights or consumer research experience, exposure to qualitative research, and strong communication skills. You'll work cross-functionally and will need to feel comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
What You'll Do
- Support consumer research throughout the product development and innovation process
- Help design and execute qualitative research studies
- Develop discussion guides and research materials
- Participate in or moderate focus groups and one-on-one interviews
- Analyze and synthesize consumer feedback into clear, actionable insights
- Support concept testing and packaging research
- Help identify consumer needs, pain points, and opportunities for product improvement
- Support IHUTs (In-Home Usage Tests) and other consumer research initiatives
- Work with cross-functional teams to connect consumer insights to product decisions
- Prepare presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership
- Manage multiple research projects and deliverables while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Work with research vendors or external partners as needed
- Help ensure the consumer perspective is represented throughout product development
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of Consumer Insights, Consumer Research, Market Research, or related experience
- Exposure to qualitative research methodologies
- Experience with or familiarity with concept testing and packaging research
- Moderation experience is a strong plus
- IHUT experience is highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable presenting research findings to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Energetic, curious, and eager to make an impact
- Strong collaborative and cross-functional skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Psychology, Consumer Behavior, Market Research, or a related field preferred.
