As a member of the hotel's Leadership Committee, the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) plays a vital role in shaping the success of the property and enjoys significant visibility with hotel, regional, and corporate leadership teams.
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading the overall sales and marketing strategy for the hotel, driving revenue growth, market share, and profitability. This dynamic leader oversees all sales and marketing operations, including budgeting and P&L management, revenue forecasting, advertising, brand positioning, business plan development, and ownership presentations and meetings.
This role leads, develops, and inspires a high-performing sales team, providing direct supervision and mentorship to Sales Managers, Trainees, Interns, and Administrative Staff. The DOSM is responsible for recruiting top talent, fostering professional development, and coaching team members on effective selling strategies that achieve business objectives and maximize hotel revenue opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, collaborative leader, and skilled relationship builder with a strong understanding of hotel sales processes and revenue generation. They must possess strong computer proficiency and be comfortable training and monitoring team members in group and transient contract management, rate quoting, referral generation, account tracing, and the retention, reactivation, and acquisition of key accounts.
A successful DOSM thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on leadership. Exceptional communication, organizational, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to build strong partnerships with hotel leadership, ownership groups, clients, and Hyatt stakeholders.

Qualifications
6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt)
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Demonstrated history of success
Results driven, energetic, and focused
Service-oriented style with professional presentations skills
Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
Robust knowledge of Hotel Marketing principles and practices
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
