Communications Intern, Content & Publicity Job at House of ROI in New York

House of ROI · New York, NY, USA · Remote ·

Pay:
$18-$22/hr
Job type:
Full Time

House of ROI is a boutique media investment practice. We apply financial discipline to performance marketing: budgets are capital, platforms are counterparties, and “awareness” is not a return. Media, data, and AI, deployed with investment-grade rigor, in service of one mandate: growth at the highest level of capital efficiency. We take on few clients and vet them as carefully as they vet us.

Role Description
We’re hiring a Communications Intern for the Winter 2027 term to build the clients' voice in public. You’ll write for email and social, support publicity and media outreach, and help run influencer relationships. Everything you publish reflects on a practice that sells precision, so the standard is high and the feedback is direct.

What you’ll do:

Create email marketing and social media content: newsletters, LinkedIn and X posts, and campaign copy, in the practice’s voice

Plan and maintain content calendars, and track performance (open rate, click-through, engagement) to sharpen what works

Support publicity: media research, journalist and outlet lists, pitch drafts, and outreach for review

Research influencers and partners, support outreach, and keep relationship tracking clean

Turn long-form thinking into short-form content, and edit and proofread everything before it ships

Monitor mentions, competitors, and industry conversations for openings worth joining

Put AI tools to work on drafts and research, then edit until the result sounds like us rather than like everyone else

Qualifications

Graduate student preferred, or in your final year of undergrad (communications, marketing, journalism, English, business, or similar)

Writing samples: published work, a newsletter, a social channel you’ve grown, or strong coursework

A sharp writer and ruthless editor, including of your own work

Familiarity with email marketing and social scheduling tools (specific platforms can be learned)

Working grasp of content metrics and what moves them

A critical thinker who does not accept “that’s what everyone posts” as an argument

Meticulous. A typo in a published email is a public event

Commercial aptitude: content that doesn’t move a number is decoration

Discretion and sound judgement in anything public-facing

Curious, self-directed, and motivated. We don’t manage calendars

Authorized to work in the US

Terms

Remote, anywhere in the US

$18-$22 per hour

Flexible hours, 20-40 per week, with start date and schedule agreed with the selected candidate
