As a freelance editor, you will be responsible for editing and proofreading a wide range of content, including academic papers, business documents, manuscripts, and more. You will correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors, ensure consistency in style and formatting, and provide constructive feedback to help clients improve their writing. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and choose assignments that fit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities May Include: Editing and proofreading documents to improve clarity, coherence, and overall quality.
Correcting grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.
Ensuring consistency in style and formatting according to various style guides (APA, MLA, CSE, Chicago/Turabian).
Providing constructive feedback to clients to help them improve their writing.
Ideal Candidates Will Have: A native command of English with strong expertise in grammar, mechanics, and punctuation.
Familiarity with different types of English (American, British, Australian, and Canadian).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF editing software.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch even the smallest errors.
The ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
A willingness to complete a two-part editing test (grammar/style multiple-choice questions and a sample edit).
