DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe main responsibility of the Structural Draftsman Designer in District 12-0's Bridge Design Unit is to create various design plans, including structure plans, type size and location plans, and erosion and sedimentation control plans, in compliance with design standards. This role involves working closely with a civil engineer and following the guidance of a squad leader to ensure that project deadlines and objectives are met. The projects are primarily located in Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties and can involve a range of structural work such as full replacements, superstructure replacements, rehabilitations, preservations, and repairs. To excel in this position, a strong candidate should have a good understanding of structure plan preparation and possess solid technical skills, particularly in drafting software like MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, and OpenBridge. Effective communication skills are also essential, as the role requires collaborating with others. Additionally, the ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and adapt to changes in project requirements are important qualities for success in this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework:

orThree years of experience in a variety of drafting assignments, one of which shall have been in bridge and structural drafting, including six months CADD experience or training, and graduation from high school.
orTwo years of experience in bridge and structural drafting and detailing assignments including six months of CADD experience or training and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology.
orAny equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
