DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: The Marketing & Donor Experiences team, which falls within the Strategic Engagement team at the OSU Foundation, collaborates with internal and external partners to provide strategic, integrated marketing, communication, creative services and special events expertise to achieve our mission of serving Oklahoma State University and providing our donors with impactful, dynamic and engaging experiences.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Multimedia Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, editing, and producing a wide range of multimedia content to support digital engagement efforts. This includes social media graphics, digital advertisements, motion graphics/animations, and video content.
The primary focus of this role is to create compelling digital experiences that inspire and steward philanthropic support for Oklahoma State University. The Multimedia Designer will work closely with the Strategic Engagement team—including Pipeline Growth & Readiness, Donor Relations, and Marketing & Donor Experiences—as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure all creative output aligns with the Foundation’s engagement and branding strategies.
This role may also collaborate with campus partners to ensure consistency and amplification of donor engagement efforts across all digital channels. In addition to multimedia production, the position includes occasional photography and static graphic design responsibilities.
Key Areas Of Focus
Primary Responsibility #1 (50%) - Video Production-
- Lead the storytelling process by producing compelling video content that highlights donor and student experiences.
- Manage all aspects of video production, including storyboarding, filming, lighting, audio recording, and editing.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Donor Experiences team—especially those focused on social media and web strategy—to create video content tailored for digital platforms such as social media, digital advertising, and OSUgiving.com.
- Record and edit high-quality audio to support video and multimedia projects.
- Utilize Canon DSLR cameras for filming and demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition.
- Design engaging motion graphics that support digital engagement campaigns, primarily for use on social media and digital advertising platforms.
- Work closely with the Communications team to align motion graphics with broader social media strategies.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
- Capture high-quality images at Foundation and campus events as needed, ensuring moments are documented for use across digital and print platforms.
- Stage and photograph subjects for storytelling purposes, supporting donor and student features, campaigns, and other editorial content.
- Use Canon DSLR cameras for all photography assignments and edit images using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications—including Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat—to adapt static graphics for use in motion and video projects
- Ensure all design elements align with brand guidelines and support broader engagement strategies
Job Competencies And Experience
Education & Certifications-
- Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in graphic design, multimedia design, videography or closely related field.
- Possess at least 2-3 years of experience, with a preference of 5+ years, in multimedia and video production and/or graphic design
- Proficiency with and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop is required
- A working knowledge of the remaining Adobe Creative Suite, which includes InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom and Acrobat Pro is preferred
