Cable Network Ranker: Week of December 3

The slow news month of December reared its head in the cable network ranker last week.

Fox News Channel placed ninth among all ad-supported cable channels in primetime last week, and seventh in total day. FNC averaged 1.72 and 1.07 million viewers, respectively.

MSNBC placed 19th in primetime and 21st in total day, averaging 979,000 and 541,000 viewers, respectively. CNN placed 34th in primetime and 33rd in total day, averaging 473,000 and 335,000 viewers, respectively.

HLN was 44th in primetime and 44th in total day, averaging 283,000 and 198,000 viewers, respectively. Current TV was 92nd in primetime and 93rd in total day, averaging 39,000 and 26,000 viewers, below the minimum Nielsen threshold for accuracy.

For the business networks: CNBC placed 51st in primetime and 53rd in total day averaging 208,000 and 165,000 viewers, respectively. Fox business Network placed 88th in primetime and 85th in total day, averaging 55,000 and 50,000 viewers, respectively. Bloomberg TV hasn’t been rated by Nielsen since it launched in 1994.
