Los Angeles NBC, ABC Correspondents on the Move

NBC News just announced it has hired Diana Alvear (right) as a network correspondent based in the network’s LA bureau. Alvear will report for all platforms of NBC News when she joins July 23.

Alvear comes from ABC News in Los Angeles, where she was a correspondent for the network’s affiliate news service NewsOne. In the last few years, Alvear has covered some of the biggest international stories including the Royal Wedding, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami and the rescue of the Chilean miners.

Before ABC, Alvear worked at WGBA, the NBC affiliate in Green Bay, and before that she was across the state in Eau Claire, WI at ABC affiliate WQOW.

Over at ABC, Alvear’s replacement at NewsOne has already been named. TVSpy reports former KTLA reporter Brandi Hitt will be the NewsOne correspondent in Los Angeles.
