Coming off of his 20th anniversary celebration for hosting CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Bob Schieffer led the program to a ratings victory September 25. “Face” topped NBC’s Meet the Press” and ABC’s “This Week” in both total viewers and the key adults 25-54 demo.

It was a standard show for Schieffer, featuring interviews with DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and RNC chair Reince Priebus. It was a more unusual program for “Meet the Press,” which originated from New York. Moderator David Gregory interviewed Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu from the “Nightly News” studio, before moving to NBC’s “Education Nation” set for an interview with NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and a roundtable on education.
