Description and Requirements

Responsibilities

• Achieve annualized new business sales of $175k in target markets.
• Declare a primary industry specialization and possibly a secondary vertical.
• Retain at least 92% of business year over year with support from leadership.
• Meet new business activity and appointment goals.
• Research prospects and develop tailored messaging.
• Explain USI’s competitive advantages to clients and prospects.
• Develop sales plans and prospecting strategies.
• Innovate for clients using market and technical insurance knowledge.
• Participate in industry meetings and video calls.
• Prepare for client meetings and support sales processes.
• Use USI’s tools for sales automation and data input.
• Engage in training and sales support programs.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Collaborate with account management on client services.
• Demonstrate knowledge of competitors.
• Represent USI at events and seminars.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Minimum 3 years of sales experience in insurance brokerage.
• College degree preferred.
• Property & Casualty insurance license required.
• Strong insurance knowledge.
• Personable, motivated, goal-oriented.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Organized with good follow-up skills.
• Resourceful and positive approach.
• Strong listening skills and customer focus.
• Ability to interact with senior management and present professionally.
