Description and Requirements

General Description:

Outside Commercial Lines sales position. Responsible for driving business sales, retention, and growing existing client revenue. Manage client relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annualized new business sales of $175k in our target market of companies at least $10mm in sales within a specific industry.
  • Work with Practice Leader to declare a primary industry specialization (vertical). May also choose a secondary vertical that is aligned with primary vertical.
  • Retain at least 92% of business year over year with assistance from leadership and account management staff.
  • Meet new business activity and quality appointment goals.
  • Research prospects and develop customized messaging using USI resources.
  • Explain USI’s competitive differentiation to clients and prospects.
  • Develop sales business plan and prospecting strategies.
  • Innovate for clients using market knowledge and technical insurance expertise.
  • Participate in national and regional meetings and video calls.
  • Prepare for appointments, advance, close, and retain business.
  • Utilize USI’s contact management and sales tools for support and data entry.
  • Engage in industry training and sales support programs.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with account management on significant client services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of competitors.
  • Represent USI positively at events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of sales experience in insurance brokerage with proven success.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Property & Casualty insurance license required.
  • Strong P&C insurance knowledge.
  • Personable, motivated, goal-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Organized with good follow-up skills.
  • Resourceful, positive, consultative approach.
  • Excellent listening skills and customer focus.
  • Ability to engage with senior management and have an executive presence.

Benefits & Compensation:

Base salary plus 20% commission on new business. Salary range: $70,000 - $250,000. Additional benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and more.

Additional Details:

Part-time, Mid-Senior level, Honolulu, HI. Salary range: $70,000 - $98,000.
