Overview
The
Telecommunications Foreman
is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, and performing quality inspections. This individual will monitor task completion, compliance, and safety issues. The
Telecommunications Foreman
will have technical knowledge and experience in installing Telecommunication Systems including Fiber Optic, Structured Cabling, CCTV, OSP & ISP Copper, and DAS. This position also involves leading project teams in the manufacture of assemblies supporting telecommunications cabling and equipment, following all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role is based at M. C. Dean's modular construction facility in
Charlotte, NC . Employees report daily to the same location on a fixed schedule unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Position Requirements
Knowledge and safe use of hand tools and power tools Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures Participation in daily safety and work briefings Installation of various types of Low Voltage Cable Understanding scheduling and its importance Managing projects of 5 or more personnel Assisting in daily operations under Superintendents guidance Implementing safety, quality, and production standards Reading and interpreting drawings, including conduit and cable tray installation Coordinating with other trades, GCs, and customers Resolving work procedure issues with management Scheduling project steps to meet deadlines Interpreting and explaining plans to field workers Terminating, testing, troubleshooting Low Voltage Cabling (Fiber Optics, Cat 5, Cat 6) Installing telecommunications pathways, cable trays, and devices Training and supervising technicians and apprentices Performing quality assurance checks Maintaining a clean work environment and securing tools and materials Qualifications / Skills
6+ years of experience in commercial communications/construction High School diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a satisfactory record Ability to pass background check and drug test Reliable transportation Ability to pass a basic telecommunication knowledge test Timely attendance and teamwork skills Proper attire and basic tools (list provided) Desired Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Physical Abilities
Lift at least 100 pounds, 60 pounds for extended periods Relocate a 12-foot ladder without assistance Work at heights up to 60 feet, climb scaffolds and ladders Perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching Good vision and hearing; ability to communicate effectively in English Recognize potential problems and analyze information
