Job Description A Communication Foreman I is responsible for the installation of communications cabling and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and standards. As a Foreman, you should have work experience installing equipment involving hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of Telecom Systems, blueprints, and knowledge of codes and standards. Telecom Foremen are full-time employees with company benefits. Job Requirements Knowledge and safe use of hand tools and various power tools Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Following Safety Policies and Procedures Participating in Daily Safety and Work briefings Installing various types of Low Voltage Cable Managing small to large-sized projects of 5+ persons Consulting with senior management and supervisory personnel to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction issues Scheduling projects to meet deadlines efficiently Interpreting and explaining plans to field workers Terminating, testing, and troubleshooting Low Voltage Cabling (Fiber Optics, Cat 5, Cat 6) Installing pathways and cable trays Installing various Telecommunications Devices Installing Prefabricated Components and Assemblies Installing Telecommunications Grounding Systems Training and supervising technicians/apprentices in team environments, ensuring cables are installed methodically and organized properly at the Telecommunication Rooms (TR) Performing quality assurance checks on team’s work Maintaining a clean work area and participating in job site cleanup Securing tools and materials daily Travel up to 25%, including domestic and international travel Benefits A competitive salary Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement 401(k) Retirement Plan Military Reserve pay offset Paid maternity leave Pay range: $35.00 - $40.00 Posting End Date: 09/13/2024 Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations 5+ years of experience in the commercial communications industry High School diploma or GED Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record Ability to pass background check and drug test Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite Punctuality and teamwork skills Proper attire: long pants and a shirt covering shoulders (not provided) Basic tools from provided list prior to first day of employment Physical Abilities Lift at least 100 pounds at once and 60 pounds for extended periods Relocate a 12-foot ladder without assistance Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and balancing on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders Perform routine physical activities: walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English Use standard ladders with tools within weight limits Recognize potential problems or hazards Apply general rules to specific problems Identify details at close range Understand spoken information and ideas Desired Skills Active Security Clearance Experience with Microsoft Office applications
