AP English Literature and Composition Tutor

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online AP English Literature and Composition tutors with students nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring tailored to AP English Literature and Composition.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests and adapt to each student’s needs.
• Utilize the Live Learning Platform and Tutor Copilot features to enhance lessons with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement tools.
• Tutor remotely with no commute; set your own hours and course load.
• Be matched with students whose learning style aligns with your approach.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments and payroll.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and How to Connect

• Base rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40/hour for continuing sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• We handle logistics; you invoice for sessions and we process payments.
