Overview

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
• Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
• Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability; identify improvement opportunities; and promote continuous learning.
• Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback (Tour-to-Teach); communicate and collaborate with all levels of staff regarding store operations, technology, merchandising, and company direction; lead company change efforts; provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions; and communicate business objectives to teams.
• Model exceptional customer service standards following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manage and support customer service initiatives; resolve customer issues; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies; and provide process improvement leadership for a high-quality customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and support mission, values, and ethics; apply Open Door Policy in business processes and practices.
• Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, and ensuring alignment to sales; monitor merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve profit goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
• For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training. For facilities selling ammunition with state-specific requirements: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
