Position Summary... What you\'ll do...

What you\'ll do includes supervising and developing hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace; recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth; coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities by maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs; communicating goals, planning and measuring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities; teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores and giving feedback (Tour-to-Teach); communicating with all levels regarding operations, initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; leading change efforts and providing guidance to implement business solutions.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and develop associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, supporting customer service initiatives, resolving customer needs and issues, and leading process improvements to deliver a high-quality customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and support ethics and integrity through action plans, Open Door Policy, and applying policies to business processes.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation and inventory flow, and mitigating shrink to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Promote Respect for the Individual and Act with Integrity by fostering belonging, teamwork, accountability, and ethical behavior; communicate with impact and positivity; mentor others; recognize contributions; and support Walmart\'s values and regenerative goals.
  • Deliver customer-focused results, make decisions with reliable information, balance short- and long-term priorities, and consider team impact.
  • Strive for excellence through continuous improvement, openness to new technologies and skills, and supporting others through change.

Benefits and pay specifics

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for associates; programs range from high school completion to bachelor\'s degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are paid by Walmart. Eligibility requirements apply and benefits may change.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and other position-specific compensation (e.g., RPZ, Complex Structure) where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition with state requirements: current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
