Join to apply for the Social Media Manager role at Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee. This position plans and executes social media strategies to support Haslam’s marketing and communication goals, and manages a comprehensive social media strategy for Haslam's platforms.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute social media strategies in support of the college’s marketing and communication goals.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy for Haslam\'s current and desired platforms.
- Create and share content across Haslam\'s primary social media platforms (@Haslamut), monitor comments and mentions, and maximize engagement while supporting the college\'s reputation.
- Coordinate contributions from multiple creators, managing a posting schedule across departments and partners for campaigns, events, milestones, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain social media guidelines, best practices documentation, trainings, and shared resources for campus communicators.
- Analyze social accounts, campaigns, and posts to determine efficacy, adjust in real time to improve reach, and set long-term goals per platform and audience; advise on language and tone when collaborating with others.
- Prepare detailed analytics of social platforms and progress toward goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for leadership.
- Focus on platform-specific audience needs, leveraging videography, sound, text, photography, and student/faculty involvement with modern engagement practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience related to the position responsibilities; experience managing an institutional or organizational social media account
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Advanced knowledge of various social media platforms; ability to plan ahead and organize others; evaluate analytics and report on content performance; strong writing/editing; ability to be proactive and creative; experience with end-to-end paid social media campaigns; ability to obtain social content from sources
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience related to the position; experience managing social media in a higher education setting
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Graphic design and Adobe CC experience; photo and video creation/editing capabilities
