What you’ll do

  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying goals; and promoting continuous learning.
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback; communicate with all levels regarding store operations, technology, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Provide customer service leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience, addressing issues and implementing action plans for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and support the mission, values, and ethics. Promote the Open Door Policy and apply these in business processes and practices.
  • Drive financial performance by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; monitor merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes; and mitigate shrink to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Model and promote Walmart’s values, respect for individuals, integrity, customer service, and strive for excellence in daily work.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, a firearms-specific CBC and training may be required. Associates may be required to attend and complete trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and location-based pay (RPZ) where applicable.

Note: The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00.
