Overview

Position Summary: The role focuses on supervising and developing hourly associates, hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and promoting a culture of belonging. Responsibilities include coordinating job-related activities, building relationships with stakeholders, and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs. The position also involves leading teams, delivering customer service, and driving store performance through effective operations and communication.

What you’ll do

  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing performance, and promoting a culture of belonging.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, and communicating goals and progress.
  • Develop accountability for results, identify improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning.
  • Lead and develop teams by training, listening to associates, touring stores, providing feedback, and communicating operations, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
  • Model exceptional customer service via the OBW service model, support customer service initiatives, resolve customer issues, and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Open Door Policy, and ethical standards; support Walmart’s mission and integrity.
  • Support financial performance by reviewing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, and monitoring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and shrink mitigation.
  • Foster a team-driven environment that respects individual differences and encourages belonging, accountability, and high performance.

Benefits and compensation

Annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and other position-specific benefits.

Minimum qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required depending on state requirements.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
