Overview

Position Summary: The role provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. The role also recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth, coordinates and oversees job-related activities, builds relationships with key stakeholders, supports plans to meet customer and business needs, communicates goals, and measures progress toward results. The position leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening, touring stores to provide feedback, communicating with all levels of associates about store operations, technology, initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts; and providing guidance to implement business solutions and clear business objectives to teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and fostering a culture of belonging.
  • Lead and develop teams by training, coaching, store tours (Tour-to-Teach), and communicating store operations, technology, merchandising, and company direction; drive change initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Support customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) model; manage and support customer service initiatives and community programs; resolve customer issues and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethics; support Open Door Policy and apply company values to business processes and practices.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, controlling expenses, optimizing merchandise presentation, and mitigating shrink to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Model and reinforce the company values: respect the individual, act with integrity, serve customers, and strive for excellence; build a culture of belonging and teamwork.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00–$80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Other compensation for certain positions may include regional pay zones or complex structures based on location and external factors.

Health benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage. Financial benefits include 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance. PTO benefits include PTO (including sick leave), parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. Other benefits include disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement. You will also receive PTO/PPTO that varies by job classification and length of employment and meets applicable paid sick leave requirements where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 2 years’ college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • For facilities selling only ammunition with state requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates must attend and complete required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
