Key Qualifications: Certification or experience in teaching students who are visually impaired Strong understanding of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies Ability to tailor lesson plans to accommodate individual student needs Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Location: Oakland, California K-12 school setting Responsibilities: Design and deliver curriculum adapted for students with visual impairments Assess student progress and modify teaching methods accordingly Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including orientation and mobility specialists, occupational therapists, and other educators Provide consultations and support to classroom teachers and families Maintain detailed records and reports on student development Facilitate access to appropriate assistive technology and learning materials Benefits: Engage in meaningful educational work supporting students with unique needs Professional development opportunities within specialized teaching fields Experience working in a diverse, urban school environment Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply to contribute their expertise in providing exceptional education and support to visually impaired students for the current school year.
