Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments. Provide direct instruction in specialized techniques such as braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt instructional materials and assessments. Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members about student development and needs. Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices and educational advancements for visually impaired students. Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching credential in Special Education or a related field. Certification or demonstrated expertise in teaching visually impaired students. Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments. Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and related instructional methods. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills. Ability to work effectively in a contracted, semester-long assignment.
