Discover Church is hiring: Youth and Music Minister in Wichita

Discover Church is actively seeking a dedicated individual to fill the full-time position of Youth and Music Minister. We are open to the possibility of part-time candidates or those who may feel called explicitly to youth ministry or to music ministry.

As the youth minister, this individual will play a pivotal role in guiding our high school and junior high students. The ideal candidate will collaborate with students to implement strategies for discipleship, foster the development of volunteer leaders, and build strong relationships with students' families. The youth minister will be instrumental in nurturing our mission of cultivating fully devoted followers of Jesus, engaging them in faith, ministry opportunities, community outreach, and participation in weekly worship services. This full-time position typically requires availability of weekend services, staff meetings, and meaningful interactions with students throughout the week.

In the capacity of Music Minister, the successful candidate will lead the Discover Praise Band, collaborating closely with the pastor to select worship songs that complement the sermon themes each Sunday. Responsibilities will also include leading worship practices and overseeing the worship segment of Sunday morning services. Additionally, the Music Minister will be tasked with recruiting and training new volunteers for the praise team.

Qualifications

• A committed Christian dedicated to nurturing a personal relationship with Christ, serving as an exemplary model for others.
• A self-motivated individual with a strong desire for continuous learning and growth.
• A deep enthusiasm for youth ministry and fostering the spiritual development of young people.
• A degree in theology or Christian ministry is highly desirable.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with youth, families, and church staff.
• Proven ability to lead, recruit volunteers, and develop effective ministry teams.
• Ideally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in youth ministry and music programming.
