Job Title: Physician - Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Oculoplastic Surgeon (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department: The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an Oculoplastics Surgeon to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview
The Department is seeking a full-time clinical Oculoplastics Surgeon. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education in Oculoplastics at OSU Wexner Medical Center. Duties and Responsibilities
The Division Director and/or Department Chair determines work assignments. Each faculty member is expected to perform the full range of responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of faculty responsibility, with or without a trainee. There is expectation to support the academic mission. There will be opportunities to pursue research, quality improvement, curriculum development and education initiatives, or other activities aligned with the faculty assignment. Faculty members are expected to teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching with medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Service commitments include OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected. Participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is also expected. Requirements
Due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology, as well as subspeciality training in an ASOPRS-approved fellowship or membership in ASOPRS, with additional appropriate training in Oculoplastics. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Oculoplastics. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students is required.
