Company: Pandiscio Green
About Us: Established in 1997, Pandiscio Green is a full-service, multi-disciplinary design studio specializing in brand creation, strategy, graphic design, and creative direction. We partner with clients across luxury real estate, hospitality, and arts and culture to develop ideas, craft narratives, and shape strategies into meaningful and aspirational brands with presence, precision, and soul.
The Role
We are seeking a highly conceptual, astutely focused, and culturally curious Art Director to join our team. This is a flexible, hybrid role (based either in Brooklyn, NY or Palo Alto, CA) ideal for someone who moves fluidly between design creation and creative leadership—someone who can craft a strategic brand campaign in the morning, design a dynamic wordmark by noon, and switch gears to develop a photography content plan & brief by end of day. The art director will own their work and collaborate directly with the studio’s creative directors, vendors, and clients.
The role involves preserving the studio’s reputation and integrity while shaping the visual language of current and upcoming portfolio projects, from brand strategy and visual identity to digital application and campaign development, design of decks, books, packaging, and environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead concept development, visual exploration, and execution across multiple projects with energy, enthusiasm, and focus.
- Translate and evolve strategic direction into design systems with a clear point of view.
- Create brands that live beyond the logo with complete visual identity systems, strong art direction, and cohesive style.
- Craft compelling and concise presentations that are as provocative and visual as the work.
- Guide designers with a calm, clear, and collaborative spirit.
- Liaise with clients and collaborators (developers, hospitality groups, architects, photographers, etc.) to ensure excellence from concept to execution.
- Lead design production in various mediums (digital, print, signage, environments).
- Manage project scope of deliverables, schedules, and delivery dates to adhere to contracts.
- Maintain curiosity and passion for culture, design, and branding to keep the portfolio unique and timeless.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience at top-tier studios or in-house creative teams with luxury, hospitality, lifestyle, or culture clients.
- A refined visual sensibility and elevated typographic instincts.
- Confident presenting and defending ideas to clients with patience and humility.
- Ability to think ahead, self-challenge, and know when to refine ideas to stay on schedule.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Figma.
- Experience with both tactile design and motion design (kinetic animation, logo animation, moving imagery).
- Intermediate animation and video editing in After Effects & Premiere.
- Familiarity with Gen AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Visual Electric, Synthesia, Sora).
- Ability to build decks and mock up physical artifacts (e.g., hotel keycards, Baseline Grid layouts).
- Advanced knowledge of print production and digital design (UX/UI best practices).
- Thoughtful, humble approach focused on beauty, clarity, and impact.
Bonus Points
- Experience with motion design or creative direction for photo/video.
- Familiarity with residential real estate development and/or hospitality sectors.
- Appreciation for language, writing, naming, and editorial storytelling.
- Working knowledge of architectural software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp).
- Fluency with visual platforms such as Cosmos, Savee, Hypra Studio, Death To Stock, etc.
What We Offer
- Hybrid flexibility with a home base in our NYC studio.
- Paid time off and studio-wide breaks.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Mentorship, growth, and a supportive team environment.
- Opportunities to travel domestically and internationally for projects and industry events.
- The chance to shape the studio’s direction in luxury, design, and branding.
