Position Overview

Position Title: [WorkStudy] Music Production Aide

Location: Albany Campus, Albany, OR

Division/Department: Performing Arts

Work is normally performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards.

Job Summary

Assist students in projects related to courses in the music production program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in projects related to courses in the music production program.
  • Monitor computer usage and ensure that only students taking classes in the program are using the equipment.
  • Assist in the check-out and check-in of equipment.
  • Inform music production faculty of any issues concerning the equipment in the lab.
  • Ensure the lab is clean and ready for use by the next class.
  • Ensure all rules set by instructors of the group piano and music production courses are followed during lab hours, including rules about food and drinks on desks.
  • Assist with Event Production, including running lights, sound, and setting the stage for music events.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires basic office operations knowledge and skills.
  • Must be able to use Google Sheets.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with large groups of people.
  • Must be able to perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision and following well-defined policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with diverse populations in a courteous manner, exercising patience, either over the phone or in person.
  • Must be able to work respectfully with individuals from all cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Employment is contingent on a post-offer criminal background check. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s Form I-9 confirming authorization to work in the United States.
