Overview

The Department of English and Writing within the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time, continuing position as Assistant Teaching Professor of English and Writing, to begin in August 2026.

Reporting and workload: on-campus, in-person teaching load of seven four-hour courses in academic writing per year. The successful candidate will contribute to the Academic Writing Program through curricular initiatives and committee work, with the possibility of serving as Assistant Director of the Academic Writing Program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach seven four-hour courses per year in academic writing.
  • Contribute to curricular initiatives within the Academic Writing Program.
  • Participate in committee work and program development; potential to serve as Assistant Director of the Academic Writing Program.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in English or a related field.
  • College- or university-level teaching experience in academic writing.
  • Demonstrated scholarly or professional activity.
