Overview
Volunteer: Video Production Assistance for Juvenile Justice Advocates International (via Taproot Foundation). This is a volunteer opportunity to create a video presentation of artworks made by incarcerated youth for an international event in Spain. The project will animate the artwork and add background music and voice-overs for up to 15 pieces. The project needs to be completed by May 1, with an estimated 25 hours. In June, the work will be exhibited at the World Congress on Justice With Children in Madrid, Spain. Regular meetings with the graphic designer or animator will determine the scope and ideal presentation for the highest impact.
Juvenile Justice Advocates International Mission: Our mission is to advocate for policy reforms in the juvenile justice system and to improve respect for human rights for the most vulnerable. Our vision is that children should only be imprisoned as a last resort, in extreme circumstances, and for the shortest period of time possible.
Responsibilities
- Create a video presentation of a series of artworks made by incarcerated youth for an international event in Spain.
- Animate the artwork and add background music and voice-overs for up to 15 pieces.
- Collaborate with the graphic designer or animator to determine scope and the presentation that will achieve the highest impact.
- Meet regularly with project partners to align on scope and presentation.
- Deliver the project by the stated deadline (approximately 25 hours).

- Interest in video production or related creative collaboration for nonprofit or pro bono projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with partners.
- Commitment to human rights and youth justice principles.
