Overview

Seasonal Event Technician, Audio Visual – Orlando Marriott World Center at Encore. A seasonal Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.

Position period: This seasonal position will have a start date of September 2025 and end date of May 2026. Seasonal full-time positions offer benefits, overtime, training, and promotional opportunities. At the end of season May 2026, you may be invited to reapply based on business levels and performance.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
• Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment is functioning properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel/client relationship.
• Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge: Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment for setup and strike; interact with staff and vendors; apply floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles.
• Additional DOT requirement may be needed if applicable.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. Working conditions range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will use high-end AV equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. May work in multiple hotel locations with irregular hours, on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore or the hotels involved.

Physical requirements: Ability to meet specified physical criteria to perform essential job functions. The following are categorized by frequency: Occasionally, Frequently, Continuously. Examples include lifting up to 50-100 lbs, carrying, pushing/pulling, and visual/hearing requirements as detailed in the original description.

Compensation & Benefits
