About This Role:

8th grade and 12 months of Customer Service Experience
Preferences:
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, non-exempt 20-hour a week position. Library hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library. Weekend and evening work are required.
Hiring Salary Range: $19.41 - 24.88 / hourly

About This Role:
We are looking for candidates who bring an innovative, adaptable, and customer-focused approach to their work. The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience providing face-to-face and phone-based customer service in a public setting such as a library, retail, clerical, or help desk environment
- Perform essential circulation duties, including checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, placing material requests, and explaining library policies to patrons
- Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling to meet the evolving needs of the library and community
- Accurately and responsibly handle cash transactions
- Be proficient in using a variety of software and databases essential to library operations
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Assist patrons with technology, including public computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and personal devices (tablets, phones, laptops), as well as digital library resources
- Provide Passport Acceptance Services (after certification)
- Support and participate in library programs and outreach events in the community
- Use Microsoft Office tools effectively, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel

- Experience using and troubleshooting standard office equipment: computers, fax machines, and copiers.
- Experience using and troubleshooting various technologies (smart phones, tablets, e-readers, etc.) and resources, including databases and library apps.
