BRPH is looking for an Interior Designer for our Orlando office. The ideal candidate must hold a degree in Interior Design with limited professional office experience. Requires basic understanding of design and planning principles with ability to interpret and document design concepts. Must have drafting ability with knowledge of drawing techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
Gain knowledge in client interaction and communication.
Participate in project design effort.
Assist in the preparation and conducting client interviews; consolidate information into a Program Document outlining square footage and personnel requirements.
Assist in initiating preparation of Equipment List gathering electrical, plumbing, and special HVAC requirements from client.
Prepare Schematics, including Block & Stacking Plans.
Space Planning.
Prepare complete set of Construction Documents.
Implement technical design concepts during construction documentation.
Understand code compliance related to ADA and Life Safety.
Understand construction techniques and constructibility for interiors, including flooring, partitions, ceilings, and finish materials.
Coordinate all applicable project discipline drawings.
Prepare communication with outside consultants.
Use computer-aided design drafting to produce routine final drawings; perform CADD operations.
Prepare presentation and color boards.
Review outgoing submittals; enforce job‑specific standards and quality as defined in BRPH System Manuals.
Maintain project schedule and budget worksheets.
Assist senior staff in developing and coordinating furniture bid documents.
Assist senior staff in monitoring project profitability.
Coordinate manpower allocation to meet project deadlines.
Attend weekly scheduling meetings with the department.
Maintain administrative and technical documents required by senior staff for interior design project management.
Assist senior staff with billing invoice clarifications.
Develop professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
Marketing Duties & Responsibilities
Participate in marketing efforts and client presentations when requested.
Maintain client relationships and develop new revenues through continuing services.
Actively participate in professional trade organizations.
Contract Duties & Responsibilities
Identify project modifications.
Qualifications
Four- or two-year degree in Interior Design from a CIDA‑accredited college or university.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Proficient in Revit.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Physical Requirements Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
