Position Summary The Library & Information Technology Education Assistant provides first-level technical support and supervises students\' use of computer equipment and study spaces in open labs, classrooms, and the library. It is a student-facing role requiring courtesy, cooperation, and a genuine interest in assisting others.
Example of Job Duties Opening and closing the computer lab or library.
Cleaning and replenishing printing supplies.
Answering the phone and virtual chat services; provide support and refer calls needing higher expertise.
Troubleshooting basic printer problems and following machine prompts to clear jams.
Transporting laptop carts and technology equipment.
Circulating library materials.
Basic level tech support and support for students utilizing library resources.
Minimum Qualifications Associate\'s degree in an appropriately related field or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position\'s essential duties.
Successful Candidate must have or possess:
Experience troubleshooting basic level tech questions from students, faculty, and staff
Experience troubleshooting printer problems and following machine prompts to clear paper jams
Experience with library search tools
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Experience with reflective, interactive, culturally responsive pedagogical teaching techniques. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).
Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of related experience.
Direct-service experience in a library setting.
Salary 34.06 hourly.
