Base Pay Range : $80,000.00/yr – $100,000.00/yr

Description Q CELLS Home Energy Solutions seeks a Solar Designer to generate detailed solar blueprints and support project development within the Home Energy System division. In this role you will ensure project scope accuracy through thorough account reviews and production model adjustments. The position is based at our Irvine, CA office, with an in‑office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with company policies.

Responsibilities

Utilize AutoCAD to produce solar blueprints that comply with jurisdictional, utility, and company requirements.

Become a subject‑matter expert on the Qcells Q.Home battery system, Q.Home modules, and related residential product pairings.

Identify factors affecting project scope, including cost and installation complexity.

Collaborate with regional construction managers to maintain clear communication between engineering and field operations.

Work with sales organizations to overcome roadblocks and improve sales efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5–8 years of engineering experience, including 3–5 years in solar system design and engineering.

Proficiency with AutoCAD.

Strong understanding of NEC and CRC code.

Experience with permitting processes and local authorities having jurisdiction.

Impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present strategy in internal and external forums.

Ability to recruit and lead quantitative talent.
