Job Description And Duties

The Position is headquartered in Sacramento.

Effective July 1, 2025, CalHR implemented PLP 2025. This includes a 3 percent pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits monthly. Salary ranges do not reflect this reduction.

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the ITS II provides technical leadership and expertise in application and web development, guiding design, development and maintenance of websites and IT projects while ensuring security, performance, availability, continuity, and capacity meet departmental needs. The ITS II will act as a lead for the application development team, providing technical and professional guidance and ensuring compliance with ADA, security controls, and industry best practices. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading development efforts and providing peer review of applications and IT solutions.
  • Advising management on IT policy and strategy.
  • Maintaining data and security standards in accordance with state standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and resources.
