Position Summary This position will provide direct support for adult workforce andbusiness programming while also performing other required monthly programduties. Performs professional and technical library work in one or morespecific library programs such as Adult, Teen, Youth, Reference Services, orLibrary Systems Administration. The Library Associate delivers a high level ofquality library services, ensuring value-added experiences for all customers. TheLibrary Associate works within the branch team to create a welcoming andengaging environment for all. This position leads age-appropriate programs forteens, emerging adults, adults, and seniors. Some responsibilities may includeteaching digital literacy classes, technology tutoring, resume workshops, bookclubs, and other relevant programs. The Library Associate represents thelibrary in the community, facilitating outreach and fostering collaborativepartnerships with local organizations.
Essential Functions Support and implement adult workforce, business, and digital literacy programming initiatives Develop and deliver programming for adults ages 18 and up Prepare monthly program reports and statistics Build and maintain relationships with outreach sites and community partnerships Provide research assistance to customers Utilize integrated library systems software Provide service desk coverage as needed Maintain the library's collection of materials, including repairs, shelving, and marketing Promote and market library programs; collaborate with Marketing and Communications to generate flyers and program materials Create and maintain attractive and appropriate bulletin boards and displays
Minimum Qualifications Experience: Minimum of two years of library, retail, computer, or customer serviceexperience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/Experience Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes
PreferredQualifications Experienceconducting programs or teaching adult classes Experiencesupporting workforce, business, or digital literacy classes. Programmingand outreach experience is highly desirable, along with a demonstrated passionfor and comfort in conducting outreach to vulnerable populations, and theability to build and sustain positive relationships with patrons and externalpartners.
