Job Description We are seeking an Associate Director, Global Marketing Management, to join our Global Microbiology Platform within Diagnostic Solutions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing Management, this role will be responsible for leading the global blood culture portfolio, including instrumentation, consumables and informatics, and collaborating with Service & automation marketing to ensure the full value of our Blood Culture offering is presented to customers as part of the Go‑to‑Market strategy.
The successful candidate will own the global marketing strategy, collaborating with regional teams to deliver maximum impact through development and delivery of all outbound marketing activities to drive demand and product adoption, with the customer top of mind, to ensure business growth and development of the brand recognition and leadership position growth.
Responsibilities
Lead the global marketing strategy and tactical execution by deploying best‑in‑class marketing practices for marketing strategy, segmentation, targeting, positioning, and messaging (including value messages), to deliver differentiated value for BD and our customers.
Lead, develop and implement global marketing tools and initiatives for the commercialization of the next generation product, ensuring regions are equipped for success and best positioned to drive adoption, both acquiring new customers and retaining and expanding value of the existing customer base.
Track the effectiveness of implementation, including sales funnel activities, impact of associated product revenue, category share growth.
Lead the global commercialization team for new product launches, ensuring close cross‑functional alignment to ensure successful commercial execution and the growth of the blood culture portfolio.
Lead the development and execution of the global marketing plan for blood culture including the bloodstream infection solution (BSI) to ensure alignment across the microbiology portfolio; build and execute the tactical plan, to ensure pricing, positioning, and messaging are communicated effectively and implemented consistently in all regions.
Develop and utilize market intelligence by analyzing industry, market, policy, and social trends to identify market and customer needs, attitudes, behaviors specifically relating to blood culture / sepsis / bloodstream infections. Utilize insights gained to inform marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, tactics etc., as applicable.
Champion brand strategy and manage portfolio brand, marketing campaigns and execution with region collaboration.
Partner with product management on portfolio strategy, product roadmap and priorities for specified market segment in partnership with other key functions, as applicable.
Effectively partner and collaborate with regional teams, R&D, Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, HEOR, Business Development, and other functions to ensure development and execution of effective marketing strategies to meet customer needs and deliver differentiated customer value.
Ensure alignment of strategies with product management to ensure delivery of the overall Microbiology Platform and Diagnostic Solutions strategic imperatives and growth objective.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 7 years of related functional experience and marketing leadership in medical device and/or life sciences industry required.
Experience in Microbiology and/or Infectious Diseases, plus general knowledge of the diagnostics / life sciences market, is preferred.
Demonstrated track record in product launches and commercial execution, identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, targeting, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, go‑to‑market models and strategies required.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement commercial strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results required.
The ability to understand and translate complex scientific, clinical, and technical information into marketing and customer benefits to inform strategies and tactical execution is a required skillset.
Results‑oriented, with demonstrated ability to manage and drive the completion of multiple competing projects, across functions and regions.
Ability to develop strong relationships with regions and functions required.
Strong leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to persuade others of the course of action and facilitate successful execution is required.
Ability to work across all global regions at both an executive and tactical sales/marketing level is required.
Flexibility to travel globally up to 30% of the time is required.
