Piping Designer Position Summary
The
Piping Designer
supports all phases of industrial projects, focusing on detailed engineering and piping design. This role is responsible for preparing 3D models, layouts, and construction documents while coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities
Prepare
piping layouts, general arrangements, and detailed design drawings
using 3D modeling software. Coordinate design efforts across
mechanical, structural, and electrical
teams. Lead or participate in client 3D model reviews and ensure design accuracy. Support the development of
construction drawing and specification packages. Perform field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and update P&IDs. Qualifications
Associate degree in drafting, design, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years
of industrial piping design experience (refining, power, or chemical industries preferred). Proficiency in
CADWorx
(required); experience with
AutoCAD, Revit, or NavisWorks
preferred. Strong understanding of
equipment layout, process piping, and retrofit design. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Comprehensive
