Overview
We’re seeking a seasoned and strategic YouTube and audio Producer to lead production for new original series designed for video-first audiences and scaled across audio podcast platforms. You’ll manage day-to-day production, oversee the creative, guide on‑air talent, implement streamlined processes, creatively leverage external resources, and ensure the show delivers sharp, timely, and engaging content in every episode.
Salary Range
$80-88k
Essential Functions Production
Oversee day-to-day production of our series that are assigned to you
Manage and direct recording sessions to ensure the highest quality content, working closely with talent to bring out their best performance.
Build and implement streamlined workflows and systems to efficiently deliver episodes
Work cross-functionally with teams, fostering clear communication, mentorship, and professional development
Manage timelines, talent, and production crew to keep content moving on schedule
Comfortable in a fast paced environment
Utilize Adobe Suite, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or other editing software to edit and produce high-quality audio content a plus.
Proficiency in video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and other programs is a plus.
Editorial Oversight
Own the show run down process
Approve and write outline/scripts, episode titles and descriptions and shape the voice and tone of each episode
Ensure accuracy, balance, and ethical standards in every story
Creative Direction
Guide on‑air hosts with segment flow, framing, and delivery
Shape recurring segments and show structure to evolve format
Develop innovative and interactive initiatives to foster community‑building and brand affinity across YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Instagram, TikTok, and beyond
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with post‑production to review edits, finalize assets, and ensure content quality
Liaise with social media and audience development teams to align strategy and messaging
Collaborate with creators, guests, and partners to elevate the show’s profile and impact
Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
5+ years of experience in news, true crime, digital video, or podcast production
Minimum 2 years of direct management experience leading production teams
Proven ability to manage talent and guide on‑air delivery and story structure
Expertise in rundown creation, show flow, and fast-turnaround content
Experience developing efficient production processes and leveraging external resources
Deep interest in true crime, criminal justice, and real-world storytelling
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Experience working with small, agile, multi‑role teams
Familiarity with YouTube, podcast, and social media formats
Comfortable leading in a startup environment with evolving workflows
Physical and Mental Demands
Ability to work on‑site in Los Angeles, in a fast‑paced production studio
Comfortable working under tight deadlines and breaking news cycles
Capacity to manage sensitive, high‑stakes, or traumatic subject matter
Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or weekend coverage as needed
Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a safe and prudent manner
Ability to work and communicate well with other employees, management, individuals well‑known to the public, creators, and studios
Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands
Ability to reach above and below shoulders, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, climb, kneel, push and/or pull, and twist
Ability to read, write, and understand English
