Senior PACS Administrator
We are seeking a Senior PACS Administrator to provide technical and operational leadership for imaging systems across Radiology and Cardiology. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, leading day-to-day operations, and driving large-scale imaging initiatives in partnership with IT and clinical teams. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily PACS operations to ensure maximum system uptime and reliability. Lead and coordinate major imaging projects, including PACS upgrades, new implementations, and integration with Epic Radiant. Serve as the primary liaison between Imaging, IT, and vendors to ensure alignment and smooth project execution. Direct daily workflow for PACS team members; assign tasks and monitor progress. Troubleshoot complex imaging system issues and proactively identify improvement opportunities. Develop, document, and maintain system configurations, access controls, and standard operating procedures. Deliver exceptional support and customer service to radiologists, technologists, and clinical users. Stay current on emerging PACS technologies, patches, and upgrades to maintain compliance and system performance. Major Initiatives
Replacement and implementation of a new Visage PACS system Deployment of Ascend Cardiology PACS Integration of Epic Radiant for radiology workflows Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in a senior-level PACS or imaging systems project management role. In-depth knowledge of PACS architecture, DICOM, HL7, and imaging integration standards. Experience with systems such as Optum PACS, PowerScribe, MagView, Hologic, Visage, or Ascend preferred. Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and clinical end users. Experience leading system upgrades, testing, and vendor coordination. Hands-on leadership role with a small, collaborative PACS team. 50% operational support, 25% improvement initiatives, 25% project work. Salary range: $98,000 – $125,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
