Instructional Designer (1099 Contractor) This is a 1099 Contract position. Looking for an experienced Instructional Designer who can regularly contract with our team for upcoming and ongoing projects. The ideal candidate is a passionate learner and educator, experienced in the course development process from discovery through completion and maintenance. Proficient in best practices in eLearning and instructor‑led training, creating courses that challenge critical thinking by focusing on application of learned material, not just knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with staff on course design, storyboard, and learning outcomes.

Develop and design courses for both eLearning and instructor‑led training.

Write scripts for both formats.

Ensure alignment with ANCC NCPD standards.

Design learning exercises, activities, workbooks, and other tools to enhance learning.

Develop instructor manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools when appropriate.

Use engagement strategies to encourage critical thinking, reflection, and application.

Devise assessment modes beyond quizzes and tests to measure effectiveness.

Maintain project documentation and course folders.

Manage project workflow and lead design, development, implementation, revision, and maintenance of assigned courses.

Apply APIC processes and style guide to support course development.

Accreditation Standards Ensure proper documentation and compliance with ANCC NCPD as directed.

Requirements

At least three years of related experience in design, development, delivery, and evaluation of eLearning and instructor‑led training.

LLC required. If not currently filed, must comply within 60 days of contracting.

Proof of continued personal growth and development in instructional design.

Health‑care related learning experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work within aggressive timelines to meet project goals.

Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Strong technical acumen with MS Office and leading‑edge tools for eLearning and ILT.

Knowledge of HTML, XML, and internet applications.

Curriculum‑planning and module design skills.

Excellent proofreading and editing; ability to write effective copy and scripts.

Knowledge of instructional theory and best practices in engagement and assessment.

Advanced proficiency in visual design tools (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Articulate 360, Storyline 360) and LMS (Crowd Wisdom, Elevate).

Confidentiality: ability to handle sensitive data.
