Adam Lippes LLC
Job title: RTW Tech Designer
Location: New York, NY (Manhattan office)
Department: Production (Design)
Reports to: VP Production & SC, and Creative Director
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Location: 5 days in the office per week are required
Company Overview Adam Lippes was launched to critical acclaim in Fall 2013 and continues to transcend the traditions of American Sportswear as a global luxury, lifestyle brand. The clothing is designed and manufactured primarily in New York City and is available at over a hundred of the finest retailers worldwide, on adamlippes.com, and in our flagship store in downtown Manhattan, plus other direct international retail locations.
Position Summary We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Tech Designer to support our Production team in ensuring the technical accuracy, consistency, and quality of our garments from development through to production. This role will focus heavily on production fittings, the creation and maintenance of complete garment packs (including precise measurements and construction notes), and enhancing our QC process through better documentation and technical standards.
This is not a design-focused role — we're looking for someone who thrives on the technical side of fashion and can help us implement a more robust and consistent production pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Own the creation and maintenance of garment packs (techpacks), with an emphasis on clear, production-ready measurements and detailed construction notes.
Co-lead and document production fittings, identifying technical issues and proposing viable solutions for fit, construction, and production consistency.
Collaborate with the design, development, and factory teams to ensure feasibility of designs from a production standpoint.
Work closely with factories (local and overseas) to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure clear communication of fit corrections and construction specs.
Support the implementation of quality control standards, using accurate garment specs and measurement consistency as a foundation.
Track sample comments, fit notes, and changes to ensure alignment between development and production.
Assist in building a more scalable, data-driven production workflow by introducing best practices in measurement, grading, and spec consistency.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in technical design and production-focused fashion role, ideally in a fast-paced and/or multi-category environment.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, and production processes.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PLM/ERP systems (e.g. RLM, Apparel Magic represent a strong plus).
Excellent skills in measurement taking, spec writing, and technical documentation.
Comfortable participating in and co-leading fit sessions with a production and quality mindset.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, especially when working with manufacturers.
Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple seasons and styles with precision and clarity.
Salary Range
$95,000 to $125,000 depending on the candidate’s experience and on how the JD/Title will be finalized.
