We are the low voltage and technology division of an electrical contractor looking for a mid-level Project Manager specializing in structured/premise cabling, security – access control/CCTV, audio/visual and wireless installation projects in the commercial and industrial markets.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and installation of low voltage construction projects, and reporting to management on various key performance indicators. This individual should have previous low voltage/telecommunications project knowledge and experience within the commercial and/or industrial markets. The qualified candidate will be versatile, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Determine and design low voltage designs/modifications from project specifications, objectives, and/or issues
Project accountability and execution inclusive of scope, deliverables, implementation, profitability, quality and resources
Interface and manage customer relationships in a business, technical and sales environment
Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
Analyze, track and report project budget, hours, expenses, profitability, revenue, margins, cost and utilization on a regular basis
Define and manage project tasks, resources and budgets
Plan, schedule and track project timelines and deliverables
Compile and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
Project documentation including daily logs, RFI’s, project submittals, O&M manuals and as-builts
Create cost estimates and proposal documents
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Minimum 5 years of experience managing low voltage projects (voice/data, security, audio/visual, or wireless) or related field
RCDD, PMI or other low voltage and/or project management certifications a plus
Strong knowledge of the various hardware/software products and services employed for projects in the low voltage and/or telecommunications industry
Experience with large commercial/industrial low voltage planning, construction and/or installation projects
Working knowledge of the codes and standards related to electrical low voltage installations
Comprehensive knowledge of all construction phases and work planning
Previous cost estimating and supervisory experience
Experience working in, or managing projects in a profit and loss environment
Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and blueprints
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communications skills
Knowledge of current computer software including Microsoft Project and other project management software applications
Knowledge of current computer, networking and/or wireless technologies
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion
Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Accubid a plus
Bachelor’s degree a plus
