Overview CNN is looking for a Staff UX Researcher with our New Business team to help define the future vision of CNN’s new product initiatives, delivering insights to inform conversion, engagement, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Develop research plans in partnership with product leads, designers, and stakeholders, selecting qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods to best inform research needs.
Conduct research that drives product insights for decision making and prioritization of features and enhancements that increase user engagement, conversion, and retention.
Effectively communicate findings from analytics, surveys, user behavior, and other data to craft actionable, unbiased recommendations.
Establish strong, productive relationships with product management and cross‑functional teams to align research strategy with business needs.
Collaborate cross‑functionally around strategic initiatives to align resources and methodology with business needs.
Self‑starter, managing projects and deadlines while pivoting as needed.
Adept at mentoring junior researchers.
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years of work experience as a UX researcher or research analyst.
Direct‑to‑consumer experience across cross‑platform touchpoints.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams in product development.
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering complex messages to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in MS Suite, usability study software, and/or statistical research software.
Mastery of Figma and prototyping.
Impeccable visual and interaction design skills.
Expertise in creating and modifying components and utilizing a mature design system kit.
Mastery of best UX design practices, including usability principles and testing techniques.
Solid understanding of mobile and web technologies.
Strong problem‑solving aptitude and natural curiosity.
Experience in digital news or a strong interest in news is preferred.
Extensive experience with program management tools such as Confluence and Jira.
Bachelor’s degree in design, human‑computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $137,900 – $256,100 per year. Base pay is one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package, which may also include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Other benefits include health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time, and vacation.
