Assistant Community Manager

The Assistant Community Manager operates under the supervision of the Community Manager and is responsible for the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community. The role is vital in rent delinquency management, financial optimization, and full leadership of the property in the absence of the Community Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial Management – Posting payments, reconciling account receivables, monitoring bad debt, preparing late notices, helping the property meet budgeted revenues and expenses, posting charges, end‑of‑month closing, walking units for move‑out charges, and ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • Personnel Management – On‑site attendance, screening, hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and guiding staff; ensuring staff compliance with policies; promoting harmony and quality job performance; implementing leasing techniques; marketing strategy implementation; resident complaint handling and retention program implementation; showing, leasing, and moving in prospective residents.
  • Administrative Management – Managing customer service and maintenance response times; maintaining property appearance; supervising business functions; planning and utilizing resources, equipment, and supplies economically.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of onsite software functions.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing or sitting for prolonged periods; repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions; accurate, neat, and thorough work assessment.
  • Frequent movement between work sites.
  • Occasional ladder, stairs, scaffolding, ramp, or step stool use; overhead or reach work; move objects up to 25 lbs; operating machinery or power tools; operating motor vehicles or golf carts; work overtime, weekends, night hours; small or enclosed spaces; extreme temperature exposure; outdoor precipitation and wind; hazardous chemical exposure.

Salary Range

$24 per hour to $25 per hour
