A K-12 school in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of a Visually Impaired Teacher on a contract basis. This position is dedicated to supporting students with visual impairments by providing tailored instruction and resources to promote their academic and social development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate the unique needs of visually impaired students. Provide instruction in orientation and mobility skills, assistive technology, and daily living skills. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive learning environments. Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to adjust teaching methods as needed. Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities related to visual impairment education. Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment Education. Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting. Strong understanding of assistive technologies and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to customize instruction based on individual student needs. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational environment.
