This role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and necessary accommodations to succeed academically and socially. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments. Deliver direct instruction using specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to integrate services and supports. Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needs. Train students in orientation and mobility skills and the use of adaptive equipment. Participate in team meetings and maintain accurate student records. Qualifications: Certification or licensure in visual impairment or blindness education. Experience working with visually impaired students across various grade levels (K-12). Strong knowledge of assistive technology and resources for visually impaired learners. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs.
