This opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator specializing in visual impairments who is ready to make a meaningful impact on students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role is based in League City, TX, within a K-12 school setting, offering a contract position focused on supporting the unique learning needs of visually impaired students. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments. Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment. Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary. Provide training and resources to staff on best practices for educating visually impaired students. Advocate for the needs and rights of visually impaired students within the school community. Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Special Education with a specialization in visual impairments. Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments. Strong knowledge of Braille and other accessible educational materials. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learner needs.
