Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. An opportunity is available for a dedicated educator specializing in visual impairment within a K-12 educational setting in Milwaukee, WI. This contract position focuses on delivering tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments, fostering their academic growth and independence. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. Provide direct instruction and remedial support in specialized skills such as Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate accommodations and modifications. Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with educational standards and regulations. Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments. Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and mobility training. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and specialists. Ability to develop individualized instruction plans and adapt curriculum content.
