Seeking an experienced educator specializing in visual impairments to support K-12 students in an educational setting located in Birmingham, AL. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students. Utilize specialized teaching techniques and adaptive technology to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to ensure inclusive educational environments. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Provide guidance on orientation and mobility skills as needed. Maintain up-to-date records of student performance and communicate progress with stakeholders. Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment or equivalent specialized training. Experience teaching or supporting visually impaired students in K-12 settings. Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional methods.
